When prompted to "open" or "save file to disk," select "save." Be sure to remember where you saved it (the Desktop is a good place). Double click on the file after it is saved.
Symantec Endpoint Protection
West Virginia University has a site license for Symantec Endpoint Protection, available to WVU students at no cost. You are licensed to use this software on your personal PC as long as you are a WVU student and WVU maintains a valid licensing agreement with Symantec Corporation. Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer
If you are running Windows 2000 or Windows XP, we recommend that you install and run Microsoft's Baseline Security Analyzer 2.0.1. It is an easy-to-use tool that helps you assess your computer's security state in accordance with Microsoft's security recommendations. Download the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer. At present, Microsoft's Baseline Security Analyzer is not supported on Windows Vista.
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer 7 is the latest version of Microsoft's popular web browser. If you are running Windows Vista, Internet Explorer 7 is installed as part of the operating system. We recommend Internet Explorer 6 SP1 or greater because of its enhanced security features.
- Download Internet Explorer 6 SP1 for Windows 98/ME, NT, 2000 and XP
- Download Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP Service Pack 2 only
Important Note: Although Internet Explorer 7 is compatible with most systems at West Virginia University, there are some exceptions.
Adobe Reader
Adobe Reader is a program used to read files in PDF format. PDF is a document format that is widely used by professors at WVU for class notes and other material. Adobe Reader is NOT required to access ResNet. Download Adobe Reader.
