Browser Security - Internet Explorer 6

Step 1

In Internet Explorer 6, select Tools, then Internet Options from the menu bar.

Step 2

Select the Security tab, select the "Internet" zone, and click the Default Level button to use Microsoft’s recommended security settings. Click Apply to save your changes.

If the Default Level button is unavailable ("greyed out"), then you already have the default level of settings.

Step 3

Select the Privacy tab, and use the slider to set your privacy settings to "Medium" or higher. Click Apply to save your changes.

Step 4

On the Privacy tab, ensure that "Block pop-ups" is checked. Click the Settings button, and set the "Filter Level" to "High: Block all pop-ups (Ctrl to override)". Click Close to save your pop-up blocker settings, and then click OK to exit the Internet Options dialog window.
