Although computers running Windows 2000 will most likely connect to ResNet, WVU does not guarantee it, and support may be limited. If the security of a computer running Windows 2000 is compromised, it may be disconnected from ResNet until a supported operating system is installed.

WVU recommends Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Microsoft Windows Vista (Business, Home Premium or Ultimate).

Before beginning this guide, please verify the following:

1. You are using Windows 2000.
2. You have your Windows 2000 CD or the installation files are on your hard drive.
3. You have a correctly installed Ethernet adapter.
4. You have an Ethernet cable.

If you have all of the above, proceed to Step 1.
