E-mail Configuration Guide

Windows Mail



Step 1

Select Tools, then Accounts... from the Windows Mail menu bar.

Click the Add... button.

Select "Email Account" as the account type, and click Next.

Type your name into the "Display name" field, and click Next.

Type your e-mail address into the "E-mail address" field, and click Next.

Select "IMAP" server as the incoming e-mail server type.

Type mix.wvu.edu into the "Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server" field.

Type exsmtp.systems.wvu.edu into the "Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) name" field.

Check the box for "Outgoing server requires authentication".

Click Next.

Type your MIX account name into the "E-mail username" field, and click Next.

Click Finish.

Select the newly created Mail Account, and click Properties.

Select theServers tab.

Make sure the "My server requires authentication" box is checked, and click Settings....

Select "Log on using". Type your CentralID account name into the "E-mail username" field.

Check the box "Log on using Secure Password Authentication", and click OK.

Outgoing Mail Server

Step 12

Select theAdvanced tab. Check the boxes "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both incoming and outgoing mail, and click OK.

You should now be able to send and recieve mail with your e-mail client.
