E-mail Configuration Guide

Mozilla Thunderbird



Step 1

Select Tools, then Account Settings... from the Thunderbird menu bar.

Click the Add Account... button.

Select "Email Account" as the type, and click Next.

Type your name into the "Your Name" field, and then type your MIX email address into the "Email Address" field. Click Next to continue.

Select "IMAP" as the incoming server type.

Type mix.wvu.edu in the "Incoming Server" field.

Type exsmtp.systems.wvu.edu into the "Outgoing Server" field.

Click Next to continue.

Type your MIX user name in the "Incoming User Name" field.

Type your CentralID account name into the "Outgoing User Name" field.

Click Next.

Type a name for this account, such as MIX account, in the "Account Name" field, and click Next to continue.

Verify the information is correct, and click Finish.

Step 9

Select "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" from the menu on the left.

Select the "exsmtp.systems.wvu.edu" server, and click the Edit... button. If no servers are listed, click the Add... button.

Type exsmtp.systems.wvu.edu in the "Server Name" field.

Check the "Use name and password" box.

Type your CentralID account name into the "User Name" field.

Select "TLS", and click OK.

Click OK again to save the account settings. You should now be able to send and recieve mail with your e-mail client.
